What's new
We would
like to thank everyone visited us at the JCK Show in Las Vegas.
Even though the attendance for the show was much lower than last year,
but we were busy at the booth. Many jewelers as well as suppliers
complained about the same thing which was the fear of
losing market share to the e-tailers like Blue Nile and
Diamonds.com, but also everyone agreed that with the new GemFind.com,
we all had a chance to capture market share as well as ability to
compete which would be impossible for individual companies to do. Join
GemFind and let's make the force stronger.

Published: June 9, 2008
Ten
years of watching "Sex and the City," including the sanitized

not to raise an eyebrow, presuming Botox has not yet made that
impossible, when Carrie Bradshaw dons a black Burberry coat and a
trilby to go shopping, film-noir-style, at Duane Reade. >>>

What does a US recession imply for the gold price?
By
RhonaO'Connell, 04 Jun 2008
Natalie
Dempster, the Investment Research Manager at the Council, has produced
a paper that studies the performance of gold in recessionary conditions
and one of the primary conclusions is that regression and correlation
analysis suggest that there is no relationship between changes in US
GDP growth and changes in the gold price. A US recession, therefore,
would not have negative implications for the gold price. >>>

The Daily Diamond Dish
By Leah Granof
Geffen June 03, 2008
There is a
Chinese proverb that states a starving camel is better than a fat
horse. In this case the American market is the thinning camel and the
rapidly growing markets in Dubai, China and India are the plump horse.
In line with this Chinese philosophy, manufacturers at the JCK show
revealed they have no intent on giving up on the camel. Manufactures,
big and small explained why they believe continued investment in the
American market is necessary. >>>

Statement-making jewels rule Vegas shows
By By Catherine
Dayrit June 02, 2008
Big
and bold continue to be major jewelry trends, but designers at the JCK
and Couture shows in Las Vegas last week have updated those themes with
subtle design variations.
Cocktail rings continue their reign in the spotlight, but the freshest
pieces are all-metal incarnations or mostly metal pieces that forgo one
large stone in favor of a few small diamonds or gemstones scattered
here and there. >>>
